Applications open for the Mohamed Hassanein Heikal Prize for Arab Journalism

CAIRO – February 1, 2022: The Mohammed Hassanein Heikal Foundation for Arab Journalism has announced the opening of applications for the Arab Journalism Prize, starting February 1 and for a period of four months.

The deadline to apply for the competition, via [email protected], is May 31.

The Mohamed Hassanein Heikal Foundation for Arab Journalism aims, through these awards, to honor journalists from the Arab world who have distinguished themselves in their journalistic work during the year 2021.

Consisting of a commemorative medal and LE 250,000, these awards will help journalists develop their skills and improve their tools to keep pace with an ever-developing world.

Applicants may submit any work published in Arabic in an Arabic newspaper, magazine or news site. All Arab nationalities can apply for the competition, provided that the candidate is 40 years old or younger on December 31, 2021.

It should be noted that the Mohamed Hassanein Heikal Foundation for Arab Journalism was created in 2007 with the aim of contributing effectively to the promotion and development of the expertise of workers in the journalistic field in all its platforms, informing them of the latest developments in the world press.

The award pays particular attention to younger generations of journalists, encouraging and nurturing a dialogue and exchange of experiences between journalists in Egypt and around the world, and providing technical support to various emerging press institutions.
